Betty Ann Birdsong, 86, of West Paducah, passed away peacefully at Parkview Convalescent Center on April 18, 2026. Betty was born in Kevil, Kentucky, to the late Ruby (Stone) and Gene Parker on June 26th, 1939. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in West Paducah. She met and married her husband, George Thomas Birdsong, in 1954, and they were married for 52 years until his death in 2006. Shortly after their marriage, they moved and relocated to Jackson, Michigan, and lived there for over 25 years. George worked at Goodyear Tire, and they raised their two children. After his retirement, they returned to Western Kentucky.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Birdsong, and his wife, Elaine of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter Robin Berry of Lone Oak; grandson Josh Berry and his wife, Amanda of Ledbetter; and great-grandson Logan Berry.
She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Donna Moss of Jackson, MI, and Sue Hutson of Murray, KY, as well as numerous nieces/nephews and great-nieces/great-nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jay Berry, in July 2025, whose memorial service will be included with the funeral service for Betty Birdsong.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Ruby Parker; her husband, George Birdsong; her brothers, James Moss and Richard “Toby” Moss; and her sisters, Louanna Davis and Irene Hawley.
Joint funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Dan Sikes officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodville Cemetery in West Paducah. Visitation for Betty and Jay will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time.
