Billy "Carpet Red" Holt, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Born in Paducah, Kentucky, on August 30, 1934, Billy's zest for life and entrepreneurial spirit took root. He left behind a proud legacy as the owner of Holt's Carpet Service, sharing his craftsmanship in homes throughout the community. A seasoned farmer, Billy's dedication to raising beef cattle was rooted in his love for the land and the animals he tended to with the utmost care. Billy also served our country with honor as a U.S. Navy Veteran aboard the USS Boxer (CVA-21).

Billy had a love for adventure and the thrill of speed. Drag racing and motorcycle riding were not just hobbies, they were a testament to the thrill-seeker within, something he lived with passion and joy. Milam Cycle Shop served as a haven for Billy, where he met with friends and shared stories of the open road.

Billy and his beloved wife, Linda, also found serenity and wonder in their extensive travels out West, with Alaska holding a special place in their hearts. Together, they embarked on countless journeys in their RV, embracing every mile as an opportunity for new experiences and cherished memories.

Billy could fix and build anything he set his mind to, he was a craftsman through and through.

Billy is survived by his daughter, Monica Keeling and her husband, Steven of Paducah; two grandchildren, Travis Keeling and his wife, Adreanna of Hampton, Kentucky and Isaiah Keeling of Paducah; two great-grandchildren, Arwen and Harley Keeling; a sister, Judith Duncan and her husband, L.W. of Fulton, Kentucky; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Holt of Symsonia, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.

The Holt family would like to thank MaryBeth Crawford, dad's favorite Hospice nurse for her wonderful care and the garlic bologna she found him that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Turner Holt; and a brother, Herbert Holt.  His parents were Hilford E. and Lila B Rutherford Holt.

Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with his grandson, Isaiah Keeling officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
