Robert "Bob" Dowell Sr., age 87, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Bob was born on August 11, 1939, to the late Carl Dowell and Eva Elizabeth Hampton Williams in Paducah.
He lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, and deep devotion to the people he loved.
Bob was a man who took pride in doing an honest day's work and in serving his community with dignity. He attended Community Life Church. His work history reflected his strong work ethic and dependable nature. He worked as a laborer at P&L Railway and later retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, where he served as a surveyor. He was also honored as a Kentucky Colonel, a recognition that reflected the respect he earned through a lifetime of service.
Those who knew Bob will remember him as a steady and kind presence. He enjoyed painting and found satisfaction in creative expression, but his greatest joy came from his family. He especially loved his grandchildren and was deeply devoted to them. He never missed a ballgame, a cheering event, or any activity that involved his grandchildren, and his support was constant and unwavering. His family knew they could always count on him to be there, cheering them on with pride and love.
