Bobby “Bob” Donald Harrell, 91, of Boaz, KY, passed away on June 18, 2025, at 3:09 a.m. at the Lourdes Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
A memorial service will be held on June 28, 2025, at Spring Creek Church of Christ in Hickory, KY at 9:00 a.m. Gary Puryear of Independence Loop Church of Christ in Lexington, TN will officiate. David Morse of Spring Creek Church of Christ will lead the singing. Graveside services will follow at Friendship Church of Christ in Murray, KY at 11:00 a.m.
Bob was born at Turkey Creek in Trigg County, KY, on May 31, 1934, to Alvin Hollis Harrell and Myra Bell Atwood Harrell. He married Nancy Holland Parker Harrell on July 11, 1954.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Edgar Alvin Harrell, Jamie Glenn Harrell, Phillip Nolan Harrell, and Danny Steven Harrell (Barbara); sisters: Edna Frances Harrell Smith Kohls and Betty Harrell Poythress; son: Terry Joe Harrell; daughter: Tammy Anne Harrell Darnall; grandchildren: Robert Harrell and Chrystal Dawn Harrell; great-grandson: Lukas-Jackson Darnall; brother-in-law: James Louie Poythress, Jr.; nieces: Cathey Harrell Tierney, Saundra Celeste Woodruff; nephews: Lamar Hendon Harrell, Randy Parker, Danny Parker, and Steven Parker (Linda); parents-in-law: Mark D. and Tamson Parker; and brothers-in-law: Daniel and Bobby Hale Parker.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Nancy Holland Parker Harrell; son: Don Mark (Robin) Harrell; daughters: Lori Nannette (Bill) Backer and Krysta Kaye Harrell; and brother: Billy Dwain Harrell (Norma).
He is also survived by grandchildren: Tamara Bryant, Terri Lynn Harrell, Richard Stewart, Christopher Sean Harrell (Maria), Nichole Alee (Sonny) Brown, Alexis Harrell, Bobby Daniel (Amber) Harrell, Jeremy Marcus Harrell, Dawn Marie Darnall (Jeff) Freeland, Joe (Ami) Darnall, Jacob Westley (Catie) Darnall, Thomas Aaron Darnall, Dawn Elizabeth Messier, Sarah Anne Backer (Zack) Peoples, Charles August Backer, and John Christopher Hinternish.
Great-grandchildren include: Catie and Harper Stewart, Ella Lynn, Asher Tobias, Parker Jotham, Analie Jordan Harrell, Jax and Noah Corbett, Tia Bryant, Duwand Bryant Jr, Tavion Bryant, Anthony Harrell (Shelby), Dametrious (Alexis) Bryant, Gabe and Amera Harrell, Adrian Hammons, Josiah Harrell, Savannah Ammon, Kaylee Griffin, Bryce Chester, Jaycob Fitzhugh, Johanna (Travis) Dwyer, Cayden, and Amos Darnall.
Great-great-grandchildren include: Ailani Carter, Duwand Bryant III, Aliiyah, Gianni and Naomi Bryant, Jayden, and Jayla Cowan.
Bob was blessed with many nieces and nephews, including: Diane Gerkin (David), Kryste S. Taylor, David Alvin Harrell (Nancy), Beverly Harrell Wright (Scott), DebbieHarrell Shapla (Rocky), Susan Harrell Poythress (Mike), Michael Stephen Harrell (Lori), Shelia Harrell Smith (Jerry), Pamela Harrell Patton (Dwight), Tina Harrell Wissmann (Jon), Missy Harrell Keogh (K.J.), Phylis Harrell Newsom (Mark), Cary Brent Harrel, (Lisa), Jana Harrell Knight, Bradley Keith Harrell (Rhonda), Joel Lee Harrell (Shannon), Timothy Dwain Harrell (Pat), Anthony Purdom Harrell (Bonnie), Dustin Prentis Harrell, William Doug Harrell (Karen), Barry Dale Harrell (April), Joshua Daniel Harrell, Wes (Marsha) Parker, Carol (Ricky) Parker King, Katherine Hale Parker, and Susan Poythress Gardner, and Cindy Castleman.
Bob was a devoted follower of God’s Word and deeply committed to his family and friends. He faithfully attended Spring Creek Church of Christ alongside his loving wife, Nancy.
