Bobby Soltys of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 61. He was born on May 10, 1964, in Cumberland, Maryland, and lived a life marked by hard work, easy conversation, and a genuine appreciation for the simple things that made each day meaningful.
Bobby was the kind of man who never met a stranger. He had a warm presence and a friendly way about him. He was a good mechanic and took pride in being able to figure things out and get the job done right. Bobby worked at the Wickliffe paper mill for Westvaco, where he contributed his time and effort with dedication and consistency.
Outside of work, Bobby found joy in the outdoors. He liked to fish on the river and at the lake, where he could enjoy the quiet and patience that fishing often brings. He also liked to hunt deer and ducks. These outings were more than hobbies to him. They were part of the life he built and the memories he made along the way.
Bobby will be remembered for his friendly spirit, his mechanical know-how, and his love of the outdoors.
He is survived by two sons, Matt Soltys and Michael (Erin) Soltys, both of Paducah; his father, Michael “Mike” Soltys, Sr. of Wickliffe; one sister, Beth Ann (Stanley) Hunt of Wickliffe; two brothers, Jeff (Amy) Soltys of Milan, Tennessee, and Michael “Mickey” (Deb) Soltys, Jr. of Carbondale, Illinois; three grandchildren; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Madolyn Ann Wirtz Soltys.
No memorial services are planned at this time. Milner and Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Wickliffe are in charge of the arrangements.
