Carlin G. Cook, age 88, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Carlin was born in Crittenden County, Kentucky, on September 4, 1937, to the late Virgil E. Cook and Syble Thomas Cook. He graduated from Crittenden County High School. Carlin was a self-employed heating, cooling, and appliance repair technician. Carlin was a long-time member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ. Carlin enjoyed going on mission trips and doing mission work on the local level.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Barbara Jean Kinnis Cook; one daughter, Lisa Dawes of Paducah, Kentucky; one son, Stanton (Regina) Cook of Huntsville, Alabama; two grandchildren, Robert Cook and Elizabeth Cook (Tyson) Parker; two great-grandchildren, Lucy Parker and Henry Parker.
Preceding his death were his parents and one brother, Virgil Cook Jr.
Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Lone Oak Church of Christ, with Paul Wingfield and Jamey Boone officiating. Burial will follow at the Mapleview Cemetery in Marion, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the Lone Oak Church of Christ.
