Carol Jean Scott Carney, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 18, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan. Carol’s life was a testament to her giving spirit and her love for family, friends, and community.
Carol’s involvement with the Lone Oak Women’s Club and her role as a Paducah Ambassador reflected her desire to connect with others and her dedication to service. Her creativity was evident in her lifelong love and appreciation of art.
Her legacy is one of love, service, and faith, touching the lives of all who knew her. Carol’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by those she inspired throughout her life.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Peter) Spieler of Santa Barbara, California; her son, Brad Carney of Paducah, Kentucky; her sister, Sharon (Jimmy) Cumbee of Mayfield, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Will Spieler, Lucas Spieler, and Brooke Spieler.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Luther Ernest Carney; her mother, Mildred Scott England; her twin brother, Harold Scott; and her grandson, Scott Spieler.
A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak with Rev. Ronnie Stinson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Burial will follow at the MT. Zion Cemetery in Mayfield, Kentucky.
