Carolyn Hollan Brown

Carolyn Hollan Brown, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Providence Pointe Healthcare at the age of 95.

She was born January 14, 1931 in  Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Martin Terry and Lora Thelma James Standfield.

Carolyn was a retired secretary from Peck, Flannery, Gream & Warren Architectural Interior Design Firm. She was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  She also gave her time as a member of the Western Baptist Auxiliary volunteer organization and volunteered at the Carson Center. 

Carolyn loved to play cards, especially Hand and Foot with the ladies, eat a Harned’s chili dog and drink Diet Cokes.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Holm (Jimmy) of Paducah, Kentucky; her stepdaughter, Rhonda Steil of Weaverville, North Carolina; her two stepsons, including Kevin Brown of Knoxville, Tennessee; her sister, Marilyn Ligon of Lexington, Kentucky; one grandson, Hollan Holm; eight step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Sylvia and George; eleven step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George “Tommy” Hollan; her second husband, Ray D. Brown; and her sister, Barbara Nell Bennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Pastor Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
