Chad Aron Wood, born February 20, 1968, passed away on June 26, 2025 following an accident at the age of 57. Educated at Southern Illinois University with a degree in Industrial Design, Chad's creativity was paralleled only by his skillful hands; he was an adept handyman and construction worker, revered for his carpenter's touch and his innate ability to fix anything that came across his path.
Throughout his life, Chad was known not only for his exceptional craft but also for his culinary talents. An excellent cook, he had an eye for plating, turning each dish into a visual feast that delighted the senses. His love for cooking was nurtured by endless hours spent watching cooking shows, which he zealously followed, often using them as inspiration for his next kitchen adventure.
Chad attended the Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky. He surrounded himself with the things he loved - artwork, antiques, and, notably, old clocks, each piece telling a story of a bygone era he so admired. His love didn't stop at inanimate objects; Chad was an animal lover, with a special place in his heart for his precious cats, especially his beloved Thomas.
Chad loved his garden, particularly his tomato plants, which he tended with meticulous care. His green thumb was evident in the abundant harvests he proudly shared with friends and neighbors. Alongside his love for nature, Chad had a remarkable memory, which served as the foundation of his encyclopedic knowledge of old music, an art form he respected and enjoyed tremendously.
Chad was a man of many talents and one great heart, and his legacy will remain as timeless as the antiques he cherished. He was able to remember the intricate details of his son’s childhood as well as the lessons taught to him by his grandfather, Robert Wood.
Chad Aron Wood is survived by his son, Robert Dylan Wood of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Danny and Kathy Wood; his grandparents who helped raise him, Robert and Martha Wood; and one son, Jesse Wood.
Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
