Christopher Eric Goss, 48, of Paducah, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Paducah. He was born on April 17, 1977, in Richlands, Virginia, to Jimmy Harold and Anita Jewell Fortner Goss. Christopher's early years were spent in the rolling hills of Appalachia in Whitewood, Virginia.
A proud 1995 graduate of Whitewood High School in Whitewood, VA, Christopher's academic journey reflected his dedication and drive. He furthered his education at The University of Virginia's College at Wise, where he graduated in 1999, and then pursued his calling in medicine at The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2003. His commitment to healing led him to a distinguished 22-year career as an internal medicine physician, marked by a deep commitment to the well-being of the elderly. He found great joy in volunteering at the Free Clinic in Hopkinsville, where he touched the lives of countless individuals with his expertise and compassion.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Eric was a man of Christian faith and an adventurer at heart. He found solace and excitement in the great outdoors, whether he was riding his motorcycle along winding roads, kayaking through serene waters, or leading young minds as a Boy Scout leader. His love for live music and his talent for playing the guitar brought him much joy. Above all, Eric cherished his role as a family man. He was a devoted father, a loving son, and a caring husband.
Eric is survived by his wife, Lena Goss of Paducah; his parents, Jimmy Harold and Anita Jewell Goss of Whitewood, VA; his four children, Samuel Goss, Logan Goss, Joseph Goss, and Hannah Goss, all of Lexington, KY; his four step-children, Conner Lindsey, Ethan Lindsey, Brynna Lindsey, and Madigan Lindsey, all of Paducah; his brother, D.R. (Wendy) Goss of Cedar Bluff, VA; his uncles, Leon Goss of ElPaso, TX, Ralph Goss of Roanoke, VA and Richard Goss of Whitewood, VA.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ervin and Frankie Fortner, and Elmer and Dorothy Goss; his aunts, Kelly Goss, Jerry Goss, Sandy Goss, and Wanda Fraley; his uncles, James Goss and Denny Goss.
