Daniel Reid Barnhill, age 85, of Melber, Kentucky passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
Daniel was born on September 4, 1939 in Graves County to the late Berkley Barnhill and Virgie Garnett Barnhill. Daniel was a lifelong member of the Owens Chapel Methodist Church where he often led the singing and played the piano. He was retired from Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, where he worked as a carman. He enjoyed camping with his family and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sue Turner Barnhill; one daughter, Amy (Chuck) Davis of Lone Oak; one step-daughter, Lisa Kelly of Melber; two step-sons, Timothy (Jennifer) Kelly and Joe Kelly, both of Michigan; two grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Housman and Michael McNeil; four great-grandchildren, Eowyn McNeil, Sam McNeil, Stella Housman and Hank Housman; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding in death was one daughter, Beverly Barnhill; one sister, Pamela Harned; two brothers, Davey Lee Barnhill and Gary Barnhill; and his parents.
Services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Revs. Randy Story and John Smithmier officiating. Burial will follow at the Owens Chapel Cemetery in Melber, Kentucky. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
