David Helm, 80, of Grantsburg, Illinois, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Helm was of the Christian faith. He had worked for ICG Railroad and retired in construction.
David is survived by a daughter, Angela Helm (Bobby Burnham) of Grantsburg, Illinois; two sons, Chuck Helm (Kathy) of Grantsburg, Illinois and Keith Helm (Heather) of Metropolis, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Brandon Burnham, Adam Burnham, Heather Green, Katelyn Wilson, Alisha Haney, Sage Helm, Grant Helm and Jude Helm; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Finke of Paducah and Vera McGinnis of Peoria, Illinois; two brothers, Clifford Helm and Wayne Helm both of Metropolis, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Metcalf Helm; a grandson, Dustin Burnham; a sister, Sylvia Cooper; four brothers, Floyd Helm, Lowell Helm, Frankie Helm and Eugene Helm. His parents were, Charles and Delsie Frazier Helm.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Justin Wolfe officiating.
There will be no visitation.
