David K. Sanders, age 73, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 9:17 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at his home. David was born on March 22, 1952 to the late David Harold Sanders and Betty Jo Harris Nimmo. David was a 1970 graduate of Lone Oak High School. David was a long time member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ. He graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and received his Master's Degree from Murray State University. David became a Certified Public Accountant and owned his business, David K. Sanders, CPA PLLC, in Lone Oak.
David’s hobbies and past time included reading History, concerning the Civil War, spending time with family going biking, fishing, hiking and bird hunting. David enjoyed his many trips to see the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball games with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth “Libby” Sanders; one son, Ben Sanders; two sisters, Patricia “Pat” King and Connie Jett, one brother, Dennis (Lisa) Sanders, all of Paducah, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Preceding in death was his father, David Harold Sanders; mother Betty Jo Harris Nimmo; step-father, R. L. “Reedy” Nimmo; two brother-in-laws, Billy Wayne King and Larry Neal Jett.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Paul Wingfield officiating. Private family burial will be later at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. until service time of 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
