Donald “Don” Driver, 79, passed away at his residence after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Don was born on March 28, 1947, in Paducah, to the late Hershel Driver and Pauline Gibson Driver.

Don was a retired machinist who dedicated many hardworking years to South-Side Machine Shop. He took pride in his work and was respected by those who knew him. Don was known for his witty personality, sincere nature, and his ability to make people laugh with his quick sense of humor.

In his younger years, Don enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved the freedom of the open road. He was always ready for a game of pool and enjoyed playing anywhere he had the chance. Don also enjoyed collecting guns and appreciated the hobby throughout his life. More than anything, he cherished the time spent with his beloved wife, Doris. Together they shared 49 years filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. He also had a special bond with his dog, Lucy, who was truly his “pride and joy.”

Don had a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Anyone who knew Don loved him and will remember him fondly.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Potocki of Christopher, Illinois; brothers, Daryl Driver of Miami, Florida, and Mike (Donna) Driver of Joplin, Missouri; aunts, Nina (Gary) Wood of Symsonia, Kentucky, and Sue (Donzel) Wagner of Symsonia, Kentucky; along with many cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Bro. Dennis Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour of 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
