Donna Ellis Anselm, 74, of La Center, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. She was born on January 4, 1951, in Paducah.
Donna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was known for her warm smile, quick sense of humor, and the joy she brought to those around her. Donna had a natural talent for arts and crafts, and she enjoyed creating things that her family will continue to treasure.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church before joining St. Mary Catholic Church in La Center. Through her involvement in the church, she formed lasting friendships and served her community with kindness.
Donna faced life’s challenges with strength and grace. She taught those around her the value of perseverance, compassion, and maintaining a positive spirit even in difficult times.
Donna is survived by her husband of 17 years, Benny Anselm; one daughter, Shanna Durbin (Randy) of Benton; one son, John C. Ellis, III, (Ansley) of Paducah; three brothers, Randy Englert of Paducah, Roger Englert (Betty) of Paducah, Barry Englert (Melony) of Paducah; four grandchildren, Andrew Durbin of Paducah, Zach Durbin (Marlee) of Barlow, Alex Haas (Aaron) of Paducah, Madigan Ellis of Paducah; three great-grandchildren, Riley Cate Haas, Shepard Haas, Ellis Durbin; brother-in-law, David Jenks of Paducah; four step-daughters, 11 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 29 years, John C. Ellis, Jr.; her parents, Herman and Mildred Johnson Englert; one sister, Cathy Jenks; one brother, Rodney Englert; and one step-son.
Funeral mass will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Fogle and Rev. Jude Okeoma officiating. Burial will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
