Donna Lancaster Roseberry, age 88, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Donna was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on September 24, 1937, to the late John C. and Laona Finley Lancaster. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In 1947, Donna’s family moved to Christian County, where she attended public school. After graduation, Donna was employed with a law office that would later become the Turner and Dixon law Firm. There, she became Clerk to a US Magistrate for the Western District of Kentucky.
After Donna's children were born, she became the second employee of the University of Kentucky, Hopkinsville Community College, at its origin. There, she worked in Executive Administration while also continuing her own education. While living in the Hopkinsville community, Donna was involved in the formation of the Community Concert Series and other organizations. Continuing her love and education of music, she served several churches as pianist and organist while also accompanying the fledgling HCC Choir.
In 1973, Donna married Robert E. Roseberry, and they moved to Louisville, remaining there 32 years. Donna was active in Peewee Valley Women’s Club, where she was called to hold every office during her time. She also served on the Board of Little Colonel Players, was a charter member of the Peewee Valley Historic Preservation, as well as offices in other religious and civic organizations.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Kim (Don) Heine, of Paducah; four grandchildren, Meghan (Michael) Knox of Paducah, Sarah Heine of Paducah, Katie (Marc) Gumnic of Granby, Colorado, and Ally (Sean) Doran of Jackson, Mississippi; and nine great-grandchildren, Henry Knox, Emma Knox, Medley Knox, Hudson Skidmore, Heath Skidmore, Lilah Gumnic, Crosby Gumnic, Norah Gumnic, and Peter Doran.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert E. Roseberry; a daughter, Melanie Lynn Wyatt; and her parents.
A private family burial at Mount Kenton Cemetery will be held at a later date.
