Donna Sue (Pierson) Butterworth, age 87, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Providence Pointe Healthcare.
Donna was born in Harrisburg, Illinois, on April 5, 1938, to the late Thomas and Violet (Taylor) Pierson. She was a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church in Paducah. Previously, she belonged to Golconda First Baptist Church, Peter’s Creek Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Elizabethtown.
On April 9, 1960, Donna married Glendell C. Butterworth. She was a graduate of Harrisburg Community High School and Southeastern Illinois College. She spent her career working as a bookkeeper for Dr. Frank P. Skaggs, Pope County Elementary School, and Williams and Associates Insurance Company.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Susan (Bret) Cude of Gilbertsville, one granddaughter, Cassy Fulgencio (Paul) of Island Lake, IL, and one great-grandson, Kai Glen. Three sisters, LaWanda Anderson of Crown Point, IN, Doris Jean Phelps of Harrisburg, IL, and RayNell Miller (Glen) of Raleigh, IL, along with several nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Glendell C. Butterworth; her brother Robert Pierson; and her parents.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL, with Brother Ed Lafferty officiating.
