Duston Buchanan

Larry Duston Buchanan, affectionately known as Duston to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, surrounded by family at Lourdes Hospital from health complications.
 
Born on Tuesday, October 22, 1974, to Larry and Kaye Dowdy Buchanan, Duston lived a life marked by dedication to his family.
 
Duston was a proud graduate of Heath High School's class of 1993 in West Paducah, where he formed many lifelong friendships and laid the foundations for his future endeavors. After graduation, he became a journeyman of the Local Insulators Union #37, where his commitment to excellence and camaraderie were evident to all who worked alongside him.
 
A true family man, Duston's greatest joy was his daughters, Whitney Summers (Tyler), Jennifer Buchanan (Brayden), and Leanne Buchanan (Ross). He was always ready with advice, a joke, or a listening ear. His role as a father extended to his beloved grandchildren, Mason, Sarah, and Myles Summers, who will remember him for his playful spirit and his unconditional love.
 
Duston's legacy is carried on by his devoted parents, Larry and Kaye Buchanan, who instilled in him the values of integrity and kindness. His sister, Missy Lynn, and brother, Brandon Buchanan (Mary), plus cousin Kevin Reid (Leslie) and uncle Larry Reid, will fondly recall the countless memories they shared. His passing leaves a void in the large, tight-knit family that includes numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
 
He was preceded in death by both maternal & paternal grandparents, & his beloved Aunt, Faye Reid.
 
Known for his infectious laugh, Duston was a friend to many. His sense of humor brought joy to even the most mundane moments.
 
As we bid farewell to Duston, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey with laughter, love, and countless cherished moments. His spirit will continue to guide and comfort his family and friends as they navigate the world without him.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Chris Prescott and Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating.
 
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the funeral home.
