Frances Jane Hawkins, a cherished homemaker, devoted caregiver, and adored grandmother, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Maryland on March 7, 1943, Frances will long be remembered for her love, commitment, and care for her family, as well as her strong opinions and ability to hold her own in any discussion.
Frances excelled in her role as a caregiver, exhibiting great compassion and empathy. She was quick to lend a hand to help someone in need. Her homemaking skills were always on display, especially during festive seasons, where her love for decorating was evident. Each holiday was a grand display of her ingenuity and flair.
Frances was well known for her one-of-a-kind personality. She had a very generous heart and was very faithful to those she loved. Her family-oriented spirit ensured that family gatherings were memorable, filled with laughter and love. Frances was good at bringing people together, creating an environment where everyone felt valued and loved.
A woman of many interests, Frances cherished the simple pleasures in life. She found joy in watching reruns of 'The Andy Griffith Show,' where the nostalgia and humor were sources of great delight. Her love for nature was profound, and she often admired the beauty of landscapes, sunrises, and sunsets.
Frances is survived by her son, Steven B. Hawkins of Paducah; one brother, Eugene Luke of Virginia; two grandchildren, Bridget (Michael) Sheils of St. Louis, Missouri, and Brittaney (Matt) Pickering of Dupo, Illinois; and eight great-grandchildren, Cainen, Gavin, Briena, Lillian, Landen, Mattie, Mackenzie, and Maddox.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vivian Francis Luke; her mother, Lucille Moore; and one grandson, Brandon Hawkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, March 20th, 2026, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Visitation will begin at 11 A.M. and continue until the service starts at 1 P.M.
