Gary Lee "GG" Gill, 72, of Bardwell, passed away on June 1, 2025, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. He was born on May 27, 1953, in Cairo, Illinois, to the late Hazel and Norma Gill.
Gary was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and retired after 42 years as a dedicated Rural Carrier for the United States Postal Service. His work ethic extended beyond his postal responsibilities; he was passionate about farming on the side, a testament to his love for the land and the outdoors.
Gary approached life with a witty, mischievous grin, never missing a chance to share a laugh or a gentle tease. He had a unique talent for finding joy in every encounter and a joke for every occasion. Above all, Gary was a people person who never met a stranger. He loved to play Rook with his friends and spend time fishing. He was a man who was always known to be busy or “taking a ride around the block”, even when he should have been resting.
Gary was a beloved Papa and Father and loved spending every minute he could with his grandchildren. He lived a life that was both rich and simple. His memory will forever be treasured as a life well-lived and a man truly loved by many.
Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cindy Gill; three sons, Matthew (Andrea) Gill, of Cunningham, Clinton (Kacie) Gill, of Bardwell, and Cody Gill, of Bardwell; one sister, Janet (David) Gray, of Louisville; two sister-in-law’s, Pam Gill, of Bardwell, and Nickie (Mike) Crider, of Paducah; one brother-in-law, Marty (Teresa) Nichols, of Milburn; and seven grandchildren, Audrey Gill, Addison Widelski, Jaidyn Gill, Justice Gill, Jantzen Gill, Macie Gill, and Bryce Gill.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Tony Gill, and his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell, with Bro. Tim Harvey and Bro. Justin Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Milburn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 11:00 a.m. at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
