Gerrie Sue Sexton, 83, of Reidland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, Kentucky. She was born on March 6, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late James Herman Smith and Mary Louise Scott Smith. Throughout her life, Gerrie embraced the role of homemaker with grace and excellence, and she was a member of the Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Paducah.
Gerrie Sue is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bobby Joe Sexton of Reidland; her two sons, Robert Joseph (Sandra) Sexton of Alaska and Michael Lee (Cindy) Sexton of Tennessee; her four grandchildren, Natasha, Kevin, Ashley and Robert; her seven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Brianna, Aubry, Nicole, Evan, Corey and Kiya; one great-great grandchild, Benjamin; a brother, James Smith of Georgia along with several nieces and nephews.
Gerrie Sue was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Katherine Copeland and Shirley Short.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Joel Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Fooks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
