Inez Luton Curtis, 99, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at her residence.
Inez was born on February 9, 1927, to the late William and Pearl Rudd Weatherington in Paducah, Kentucky. Inez devoted many years of her working life to serving others as a retired switchboard operator for Sears. In that role, she was known for her professionalism, patience, and friendly voice, helping connect people with care and efficiency.
Faith was an important part of Inez’s life, and she was a devoted member of Concord United Methodist Church. Her church family was a meaningful source of fellowship and support, and she valued the friendships and shared worship that came with being part of that community.
Outside of work and church, Inez embraced the joys of life with enthusiasm. She loved to square dance, and she found happiness in the music, movement, and companionship that came with it. She also enjoyed traveling, and she treasured the experiences and memories gathered along the way. These interests brought her delight and reflected her appreciation for both adventure and connection.
Inez is survived by her husband, Theodore Curtis; a son, David Luton and his wife, Darlene of Metropolis, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jason Luton, Tim Luton (Chanthy), Amy Riddle (Chris Addy), and Lucas Riddle; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah Orsborn, Andrew Gray, Jace Luton, Gage Luton, Rayuth Luton, Vireak Luton, and Jasmine Luton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Luton; four sisters, Dorothy Abrams, Doris Nell Harris, Lavine Burnham, and Elizabeth Sears; four brothers, Harold Weatherington, James Weatherington, Joseph Weatherington, and Alfred Weatherington; and her parents.
