James Ronald “Ronnie” Thompson of Lone Oak passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025. Ronnie was born on Sunday, August 28, 1938, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late James and Mignon Thompson.
Ronnie was a proud Marine Veteran who enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, NASCAR, and visiting with his Lone Oak High School Class of 1957 classmates at Parker’s Drive In.
He is survived by his son, Joe (Patty) Thompson of Buckner, KY; one brother, David (Mona) Thompson of Daytona Beach, FL; one granddaughter, Raine Rogers (Nick) of Buckner, KY; two great-granddaughters, Ellie and Addie Rogers; and a dear friend, Terri Tyrrell of Paducah, KY.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Spears.
Per the family’s wishes, there will be no service at this time.
