Jeanne Rae Wommack, a Christian servant filled with compassion and a love for photography, passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on May 5, 1943, in Belleville, Illinois, Jeanne Rae's profound sense of duty to her community became the guiding principle of her life's work. She earned a Master's Degree in Social Work, a testament to her commitment to serving those in need.
For decades, Jeanne Rae offered guidance and hope as a Social Worker and Family Counselor. Working closely with local nursing homes, she became an indispensable part of many families' lives during their most challenging times. Her invaluable contributions extended to her cherished work with adults with disabilities, as well as those in nursing and rehabilitation facilities.
On June 2, 1973, Jeanne Rae married David Wommack. The couple served faithfully alongside each other with a heart for missions. Together, they have been active in the ministries of the West Union Baptist Association for many years, encouraging ministry couples of all ages. Over the years, Jeanne Rae participated in several international mission trips, as well as working closely with missionaries representing the North American Mission Board.
Jeanne Rae's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She served faithfully as a leader in numerous church ministries, including Sunday School teacher and director, the Pastor Search Committee, Personnel Committee, Director of the Women’s Missionary Union, the homebound ministry, and as the Education Ministry Team Leader.
Beyond her professional and spiritual life, Jeanne Rae was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman - embodying strength, honor, and virtue. Remembered as an excellent mother and wife, she nurtured and guided her family with love, wisdom, and immense grace. Her family was her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the principles of kindness, service, and unyielding faith that had governed her own life.
Jeanne Rae is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Wommack; one daughter, Becky Jo Wommack Hudson of Henderson, Kentucky; two sons, Jason (Shannon) Wommack of Louisville, Kentucky and Dr. Brant (Emily) Wommack of Bend, Oregon; one sister, Pamela Ann Kirchhofer Clancy of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one brother, Mark Lynn (Linda) Kirchhofer of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren, Emily Angela Hudson, Meg Elizabeth Hudson, William Joseph “Joe” Hudson, Addie Wommack, Finn Wommack, and Abe Wommack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin George Kirchhofer and Ruth Elizabeth Heely Kirchhofer.
A funeral service will take place at 1 P.M. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Dr. Brad White officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 A.M. and continue until the service starts.
