Jerry McElya, 89, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2026, at his residence. He was born on April 30, 1937, in West Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Noel D. McElya and Lucille Crenshaw McElya. Jerry was the retired owner and president of Guy Gray Supply Company. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and a 1955 graduate of Heath High School. Jerry enjoyed Drag Racing, watching and participating in the sport, and hunting. Jerry’s two favorite companions were his dogs, Trixie and Bud, who were always at his side.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith Gray McElya; two sisters, Faye Spillman and Janice (Ted) Pace, all of Paducah, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Butler and Linda Fowler; brother, Bill McElya; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Keith Tilford officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
