Jerry “Mo” Lamkin, 75, of Kevil, Kentucky, passed away on April 15, 2026. He was born on June 27, 1950, in Mayfield, Kentucky, and spent his life working hard, the Lord, loving his family, and helping anyone he could along the way.

Mo served proudly in the Marine Corps, and the discipline, loyalty, and sense of duty he learned there stayed with him throughout his life. After his service, he built a long and steady career at Gerdau Steel before retiring. Mo was the kind of man who could fix just about anything, and he tackled every job with confidence and skill. His strong work ethic and practical know-how earned him the respect of coworkers, friends, and neighbors.

Family meant everything to Mo. After the passing of his sons’ mother, he stepped into the role of single father with strength, patience, and a whole lot of love. He raised his boys with guidance, support, and a clear example of what it means to be dependable and kind. Later in life, he found joy in being a loving husband and a proud Pawpaw. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment he had with them.

Mo was also known for his friendly nature and his willingness to help anyone who needed it. He had a steady presence and a big heart, and people knew they could count on him. He loved animals and enjoyed the comfort they brought. He also liked playing golf and took pride in helping with the greens at Silo’s Golf & Country Club, where everyone appreciated both his hard work and his love for the game.

Those who knew Mo will remember him as a hardworking, dependable, and caring man whose quiet strength spoke volumes. His life was filled with kindness, service, and perseverance. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His humor, his helpful nature, and the love he gave so freely will be remembered always.

Mo is survived by his wife of 28 years, Donna Lamkin; two sons, Jeremy Dean Lamkin (Joyce) of Hickory, Tobias “Toby” Zardo Lamkin (Jessica) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two step-sons, Steven Dean Peyton (Jennifer) of Bishopville, South Carolina, Jason Edward Kelley of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one sister, Louann McLemore of Selmer, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren, Audrey Lamkin, Allye Lamkin, Abbie Lamkin, Dustin Clancy, Benton Lamkin, Celia Lamkin, Cooper Roser, Eli Roser, along with one great-granddaughter on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dalton Lamkin and Mildred Barnhill Lamkin; one sister, Judy Butler; and one brother, Tony Lamkin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Donna Wear officiating. Burial will follow the service at Liberty Cemetery.
