Jerry “Sonny” Lemons, age 69, of Bardwell, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his residence.
Sonny was born January 25, 1955, in Cairo, IL. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Rachel “Beshears” Lemons. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Sonny was the well-known trail monitor for Carlisle County for 13 years. Sonny helped out all the time at the Carlisle County Road Dept. and could always be found on a mower.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jean; five sons, Bobby (Kim) Lemons of West Virginia, Charlie Ballard of Georgia, Zachary (Shelby) Lemons of Bardwell, KY, John (Stephanie) Cox of Paducah, KY, and Jeremiah Stinson of Clinton, KY; two daughters, Sondra (Jeff) Houston of Arlington, KY, and Paige Draughn of Bardwell, KY; two brothers, Thomas “Cotton” (Penny) Lemons and Stevie Lemons of Bardwell, KY; two sisters, Vicky Lemons and Rose Mary Marbry, both of Bardwell. He had 13 grandkids: Zack and Kady Lemons, Dillon (Brooke) Cox, Trea (Savanna) Longman, Landon Hughes, Blake Courtney, Liam Cox, Connie and Charles Weaks, Jaxon Draughn, Tailor (Morgan) Massey, Tucker Massey and Thatcher Pharis; six great grandkids and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Jr. and Michael Lemons, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Bro. Aaron McAlpin officiating. Burial will follow at Burkley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
