Joe D. Dallas

Joe D. Dallas, age 85, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.  

Joe was born on June 14, 1939 in Fulton, Kentucky to Freeman Burnham Dallas and Anna Buckingham Dallas.  Joe has been a long time member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ.  He was a 1957 graduate of Fulton City High School. Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a 1964 graduate of Murray State University where he received his Bachelor’s, Master’s and his 30 hours above the Master’s Degree. Joe’s first teaching assignment was at Lowes High School, Jetton Junior High School as Principal and Paducah Tilghman High School where he retired as Principal.

Joe loved woodworking, reading, anything to do with history.  Joe loved most of all spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was a big supporter of the Tennis Program at Lone Oak High School for many years.

Survivors include his wife 61 years, Jonda Gilliam Dallas; one daughter, Jill Dallas; one son, Chris (Sarah) Dallas, both of Paducah, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Chris (Alexandra) Dallas, Haley (Ryan) James, Tori (Stephen) Ashley, Ty Dallas (Alma) Weglarz; Megan Dallas and Isaac Dallas; five great grandchildren, Millie Ashley, Aurora Ashley, Ophelia Ashley, Virginia Claire James and Eliza Katherine James; one brother, Nathan (Samie) Carter of Dukedom, KY. 

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Paul Wingfield officiating.  Private family burial take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
