Joe Estes, 59, of Kevil, Kentucky, passed away at 4:35 on June 17, 2026, at Lourdes Hospital. He was born in Cairo, Illinois, on August 23, 1966. Joe worked for Whitehall Industries and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Joe was an outdoorsman, where you could find him fishing, camping, hiking, and listening to music. His true love was spending time with his family.
Joe is survived by his wife, Crystal Elrod Estes; three daughters, Marla Jo (Richard) Blair of Louisville, Kentucky, Ashley (Brian) Foster of Truman, Arkansas, and Savanna Elrod of Metropolis, Illinois; son, Nakoda Elrod of LaCenter, Kentucky; mother, Eva Miller Estes of Cairo, Illinois; sister, Windy Hoppe of Cairo, Illinois; brother, Danny Estes of Bardwell, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Catherine, Emily, Jacob, Jaclyn and Jax; also survived by several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Estes, Sr., and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Military graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2026, at Mound City National Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
