Johnna Gail Moore Thomasson, known affectionately to friends and family as Gail, passed away peacefully on the 16th of January, 2026, at the age of 80. She was born on January 12th, 1946, in the close-knit community of West Paducah, where she would go on to lead a life marked by devotion to her family and her love of sports.

Cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team was a favorite pastime of Gail's, her enthusiasm and fervor for the game shining through as she rooted them on. Gail was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, sharing her passion for baseball with friends and family alike. Her love for sports was a testament to her loyalty and sense of pride.

Gail’s mornings often included settling in to watch her favorite television shows, "The Price is Right" and "The Young and the Restless." Her feisty nature and steadfastness were affectionately seen as Gail being set in her ways, a trait that earned her both respect and endearing chuckles from those who knew her best.  Her strong will, keen wit, and the laughter she brought will be dearly missed by her community, friends, and family.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Gail’s caregivers, who worked diligently to care for her during her illness at the end of her life.

Gail is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Goins (Toby) Adams of Paducah; two grandchildren, Christopher (April) Goins of Evansville, Indiana and Tyler Adams of Paducah; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Goins and Isabella Davenport; one niece, Michele Brewer; three nephews, Murray “Bugo” Brewer, Jr., Devin Brewer, and Stacy Brewer; one special Chihuahua, Pee-Wee.

She was preceded in death by her best friend and partner in life for 17 years, Eddie Thomasson; her parents, Avis and Katherine (Watson) Brewer; and two brothers, Don Brewer and Murray “Duke” Brewer.

A graveside funeral service will take place at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Harris Cemetery in West Paducah with Rev. Kevin Gaunce officiating.  Visitation will be from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
