passed away on April 16, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
He was born in Paducah to the late John B. Houseman and Ruby Irene Flewallen Houseman.
Johnny was a dedicated worker and retired as an insulator from Goodrich Chemicals in Calvert City, which later became the Westlake Chemical Plant. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Military Policeman and was honorably discharged. He was also a member of the Masonic Rites and the Shriners, and he attended Bethel Tabernacle Church in Paducah.
Johnny will be remembered most for his love of conversation-he never met a stranger and truly enjoyed talking on the phone. Above all, he loved his family deeply and valued every moment spent with them. He also held a special place in his heart for his sitters, whom he cared for and appreciated greatly.
He is survived by his five daughters, Rebecca Addis (Tim) of Benton, Kentucky, Sherry Houseman of Calvert City, Kentucky, Johnna Houseman of Calvert City, Kentucky, Denise “Dee Dee” Culp (Charles) of Reidland, Kentucky, and Laura Walston (Joey) of Calvert City, Kentucky; one stepson, Cary Calhoun; sisters, Linda Bailey and Diane; brothers, David Houseman, Lawrence Henry Houseman, and Michael Carbonara; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to carry on his memory.
Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Glenda Watkins Houseman, and his brother, Steve Houseman.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel, with entombment to follow.
