Karen Case Calvert, age 61, of Olmsted, Illinois, formerly of Bardwell, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at her home.
 
Karen was born in Cairo, Illinois, on September 5, 1963, to the late Harold Marshall Case and Rosa Trainer Case Gough.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She had many roles over the years. The most enjoyable was while employed by Harrah’s Metropolis Casino, and the most caring, compassionate, and fulfilling was as a caregiver in the surrounding communities, as well as in her own family.  But the most significant accomplishment in her life was being Mom to her son, Michael.  In her free time, Karen enjoyed fishing, laughter, interesting facts, and classic rock music. 

Karen is survived by her son, Michael (Victoria) Calvert of Olmsted, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Suzie Case of Bardwell; her nieces and nephews, Jeremy Case, Billy Case, Larry Joe Case, Chris Lampkin, Sedrida Lowry, Daniel Case, and Michael Case; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. 
 
She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Ford; three brothers, Billy Case, Jimmy Lynn Case, and Larry Case; and her parents.  Maternal grandparents were Charles and Olivia Trainer, and paternal grandparents were Rufus and Rhayma Case. 
 
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
