Kurt Owen Brechbill, 67, of Mayfield, Kentucky, passed away on February 5, 2026, at his residence. Kurt was born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, on May 12, 1958, to Samuel and Marlene Brechbill.

Kurt, an outdoorsman at heart, found peace and purpose in the fresh air — whether at the range, at a local gun club, or simply enjoying the freedoms he valued so deeply as a proud member of the National Rifle Association.

Kurt was also a fierce competitor in his younger years, playing college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers. He was part of four national championship teams and proudly had the rings to prove it, a testament to his dedication, discipline, and team spirit. The lessons he learned on the field carried with him throughout his life: loyalty, perseverance, and brotherhood.

A Christian man of faith, Kurt loved deeply and wholeheartedly. He carried immense love for his wife, who preceded him in passing three years ago, and he honored her memory every day. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy. Nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with them, sharing stories, laughter, and life lessons.

Kurt also loved the open road, especially on his motorcycle, where he embraced the same freedom he cherished in all aspects of his life. He was the kind of friend who showed up, stood firm, and could always be counted on. Strong in his beliefs, generous with his time, and steadfast in his loyalty, Kurt leaves behind a legacy of courage, faith, and devotion.

Kurt is survived by his daughter, Kassidy (Chad) Brechbill of Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Deagon (Tiffany) Brechbill of Evansville, Indiana, and Angus (Megan) Brechbill of Dayton, Ohio; his mother, Marlene Brechbill of Ormond Beach, Florida; one sister, Kristin (Gerald) Robertson of Ormond Beach, Florida; one brother, Kevin (Karen) Brechbill of Gold Canyon, Arizona; and two grandchildren, Elly Elam and Eli Elam.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Derenda Brechbill, and his father, Samuel Brechbill.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell, with Bro. Ronnie Stinson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
