Linda Dukes Young passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky, at the age of 75.
Linda was born on May 4, 1951, in Henderson, Kentucky. She was known by those who loved her as someone who always spoke her mind and never hesitated to tell you exactly what she thought.
Linda pursued some college credits, reflecting her willingness to learn and grow throughout her life. She later built a long and dedicated career as a secretary at Terminix, where she was respected for her reliability, professionalism, and steady work ethic.
Outside of work, Linda embraced the simple pleasures that brought her joy. She loved to play Bingo and enjoyed the excitement and fellowship that came with it.
She also had a deep appreciation for music, especially the timeless sounds of Elvis Presley and The Beatles, but her favorite was Dolly Parton, whose music she enjoyed with particular fondness.
Linda was a loving woman whose faith was an important part of who she was. She was a dedicated member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, and loved being part of that community.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Michael Wayne Young of Paducah, Kentucky; a son, Michael Brent Young (Shannon) of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Krista Bandy (Chad) of Harrisburg, Illinois, and Misty Young of Kevil, Kentucky; a sister, Karen Chapman (John) of Farley, Kentucky; six grandchildren: Brooklyn, Ally, Jarrett, Max, Erick, and Izak; and three great-grandchildren, Corbin, Ellie, and Gracie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Dukes and Laverne Wring Dukes.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Bro. Jarry Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Tiline Cemetery in Livingston County.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Oaklawn Baptist Church.
