Lynn Kaye Nagel of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, dear friends, and many members of her church congregation.

Lynn was born on July 26, 1946, to Ruby Jean and Harold “Pa” Hunt. She was the eldest child in what would grow into a lively, close-knit family of five, setting the tone for a life rooted in love, leadership, and devotion.

She pursued higher education at Murray State University, where she laid the foundation to her life of learning and service. Lynn committed her career to nurturing young minds, sharing her love of reading and knowledge as a librarian at Farley Elementary for 27 years. Through her quiet dedication, she opened worlds for countless students, believing deeply in the power of books to inspire and shape a child’s future.

Lynn was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for the many ways she poured her heart into the world around her. She was committed to her marriage and family, finding her greatest joy in those closest to her. Lynn and Tom were high school sweethearts whose love story began with a first date at the drive-in Dairy Queen in Paducah. From those early days, their bond only deepened, leading them to marry on July 1, 1966. 59 years later, their marriage stood as a beautiful testament to enduring love—one marked by devotion, partnership, a love that grew stronger with each passing day, and an “I ❤️ my wife” sticker on each new vehicle.

Her beautiful soprano voice lifted and inspired others, just as her steadfast commitment to women’s rights reflected her strength and compassion. A woman of deep faith, Lynn was devoted to her church and an active member of care group and praise team. She honored her faith not only through her service but by preserving its legacy through writing the history of the congregation. Her love, conviction, and spirit will continue to live on in the lives she touched.

She is survived by her adoring spouse, Tom Nagel; her beloved son, Michael Nagel, and daughter-in-law, Autumn Nagel; her treasured grandchildren, Audrey Withrow and Ethan Ellison; her sister, Randa Edwards, and brother-in-law, Flint Edwards; her brother, Greg Hunt, and sister-in-law, Becky Hunt; her sister-in-law, Kathy Sanders, and brother-in-law, James Sanders; and nieces and nephews who brought immeasurable joy and laughter to her life.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on January 10, 2026, at Reidland Church of Christ, beginning at 2:00 p.m. We warmly invite all who knew and loved Lynn, and those who shared in her life with Tom, to gather with us as we remember, honor, and celebrate her beautiful life and lasting legacy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Unlimited of Paducah, Kentucky.
