Mark William Hite, 58, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; formerly of Kevil, Kentucky, passed away in Key West, Florida on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Born July 31, 1965, in McCracken County, Kentucky, Mark has been a resident of Chattanooga for the last 30 years.

Drawing on a rich background in retail sales management across the southeastern US since the late 1980s, Mark embarked on his real estate journey in 2002.  He successfully operated the Mark Hite Team of Real Estate Partners LLC in the Chattanooga area for many years.  

Mark’s commitment extends beyond real estate as he actively engages with the local community.  As a two-time President of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors, he was also actively serving on the board of directors for Chambliss Center for Children, CHI Memorial Foundation, Cempa Community Care, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga, and the Launch Pad.  He formerly served with the American Heart Association and The American Cancer Society where he was inducted in 2021 as the Hope Society Honoree.

Mark graduated from Heath High School before receiving his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Kentucky.  He was a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni and is a Kentucky Colonel, which is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky in recognition of an individual’s noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state, and nation.

Mark was an active member and served as Lay Leader at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Chattanooga.  He will forever be remembered as a true friend to those who had the honor of knowing him.

Mark is survived by his mother, Lois Jean Hite, of Kevil; brother, Todd (Kathleen) Hite of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; nephew, Kolby (Mary Rose) Hite of Birmingham, Alabama; niece, Kallie Hite of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Oneda Hite.

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee with Pastor Eric Light officiating.  

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Russ Crosswhite officiating.  Burial will follow at McKendree Church Cemetery in Kevil.  

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
