Martha Wurth O'Neill, 90, of Metropolis, Illinois, formerly of Paducah, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Martha was born on September 21, 1935, to the late Firmin A. Wurth and Mary Elouise Neihoff Wurth in McCracken County.
Martha dedicated many years of service to Yopp Seed Company before finding her true calling as an Office Manager at Grow Anesthesiology, from which she retired with honors. Her professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Martha was a member of St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church. She embodied her faith in both word and deed. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and lent her talents as a former member of the Parish Council. Her involvement with the Koinonia Retreats further illustrated her dedication to her spiritual life and the well-being of her fellow parishioners.
Martha is survived by four sisters, Dorothy M. Wurth, Mary L. Neihoff, Phyllis A. Walter, and Judy A Ayers, all of Boaz, Kentucky; three brothers, William J. Wurth of Hickory, Kentucky, Earl T. Wurth of Paducah, Kentucky, and Cletus R. Wurth of Boaz, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; two step-daughters, and four step-sons.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William F. Paxton II; her second husband, Cornelius “Jack” O’Neill; three brothers, Terry L. Wurth, Paul L. Wurth, and Richard E. Wurth; and her parents.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Rosary will be said at 6:45 pm.
