Mary Ann Colapinto, age 79, of Paducah, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her residence.
Mary Ann was born on August 8, 1946, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, to Albert and Nellie Marie Raymond Gorneault.
Mary Ann found her greatest joy in the many adventures she embarked upon with her beloved husband. Together, they traveled the world, creating a tapestry of memories that spanned continents and cultures. Mary Ann and Frank met in Connecticut, where they married. Soon after getting married, they moved to California, where they lived for 55 years until their son's passing in 2024. Their daughter, Ann Marie, then convinced them to move to Kentucky. It didn’t take Mary Ann long before she fell in love with Paducah, where they bought a home in July of 2025.
Mary Ann enjoyed the drama and excitement of her daily soap operas, bowling, visiting every department store to find all the things she couldn’t live without, and a little bit of golf. After moving to Kentucky, Mary Ann found a new favorite pastime. She found great joy in watching the birds and deer and admiring the nature around her, something California didn’t have to offer.
While Mary Ann may not have been the best cook, she knew that love was the main ingredient in any meal. No one in her presence felt anything less than loved. She was a steady foundation for her family, always. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal sister, and grandma who enjoyed spoiling each grandchild, making each one feel like her favorite.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank Colapinto; one daughter, Ann Marie Ford (Daniel) of Eddyville; two sisters, Carol Gorneault of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Patty Pilbin of Torrington, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Frank Anthony Colapinto (Natalie), Michael Colapinto, Jillian Colapinto, Jayden Colapinto; Kelsey Von Arx (Damian Sheridan), Joseph Von Arx (Alex); two great-grandchildren, Margaux Alexandre, Giovanna Colapinto; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Anthony Colapinto; two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Gorneault and Albert Gorneault, and her parents.
