Mary Elizabeth Hubbard Larkins

Mary Elizabeth Hubbard Larkins died Wednesday, May 14, at her home in Bardwell, Kentucky, after a short illness. She was born February 12, 1932, in East Prairie, Missouri, the daughter of Howard and Alva Hubbard. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Larkins Jr., daughter Karen Elizabeth Larkins of Murray, three sisters, Frances Grant of St. Paul, MN, Laverne Allstun of East Prairie, MO, Naomi Nimis of St. Paul, MN, and one granddaughter, Desarae Thomason.

She is survived by six children, R. Leonard Larkins and daughter-in-law Kathy Chilcoat Larkins of Bardwell, Terry L. Larkins and daughter-in-law Denise Elliott Larkins of Bardwell, Joseph P. Larkins and daughter-in-law Bethany Smith of Memphis, TN, Calvin D. Larkins and daughter-in-law Tammye Guhy Larkins of Piperton, TN, Tammy Larkins Balzer and son-in-law Mark Balzer of Columbus, Ohio, Lori Larkins Kohn and son-in-law Philip Kohn of Hickory, KY; eighteen grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 38 great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She graduated from East Prairie High School in 1949 and after marriage, began farming with her husband in the Dorena and East Prairie, Missouri area before moving to Bardwell, Kentucky, in 1962, where she continued farming and raising a family. She was a member of Bardwell Baptist Church, where she played piano for 18 years. She was also a proud member of the church choir.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell, with Bro. Jason Burnett officiating. Internment will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell.
