Mary Hogancamp Morgan Martinie, age 92, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2025. She passed away peacefully at Oakview Nursing Facility after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Mary was born on October 5, 1933, in Bardwell, Kentucky, as the youngest child of William and Myrtie Hogancamp. As the baby of the family, she was cherished by her older brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews and brought joy to all who knew her. She grew up in the church singing alto in the choir with her sisters, Bonnie and Betty. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles E. Morgan, on December 29, 1951, and was blessed with three children, Cynthia Jane, Roger Lynn, and Lisa Gaye. Later in life, she married her devoted companion, Bill Martinie.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtie Hogancamp; son, Roger Lynn Morgan; husband, Charles Morgan; daughter, Lisa Morgan Babb; husband, Bill Martinie; brothers, Marion (Eva) Hogancamp, James (Inez) Hogancamp, Walter (Agnes) Hogancamp, Dr. Charles (Faye) Hogancamp, and Dr. Glenn (Ann) Hogancamp; sisters, Novie Hogancamp, Lorene Spillman, Betty (Dean) Brown-Molln, Bonnie (Warren Lee) Owens. She is survived by her treasured daughter, Cindy, and grandchildren: Drs. Shannan (Aleco) Tujios, Charles Zachary (Karee) Morgan and Kayley Babb; five great-grandchildren, Alexander, Eli and Katherine Tujios and Axel and Ana Morgan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary embodied the teachings of Christ, clothed in strength and dignity, hardworking and generous, devoted to her family and the Lord even in the most trying of times. She never met a stranger and would shower gifts of homemade food and crocheted blankets just when you needed it the most. She volunteered with the Red Cross, retired from Kentucky Health and Human Services, and was an active member of Mississippi Baptist Church for over 80 years. She was appointed a Kentucky Colonel, the governor’s highest honor, in recognition of her charitable aid to those in need.

To those who knew her best, our “Mama, “Nonny,” and “Aunt Mary” was the bedrock of our family--the one who provided for us, comforted us, guided us, and wrapped us in love. We cherish memories of her warm kitchen, biscuits and gravy, hugs, and soft voice singing lullabies. She lived every moment to its fullest and was generous with her time and affection. She had a wonderful sense of humor and delighted in playing mischievous pranks and having a great belly laugh. Words cannot express the void left in our hearts, but we are comforted by God’s promise of everlasting life and the joyful Heavenly reunion.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. Mark Burnett officiating. Proverbs 31:25-29 (ESV)
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
