William Michael Cruse, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the age of 62.
Mike, as he was known to his friends and family, was born in Paducah on Monday, June 3, 1963, to William and Barbara Cruse. He was a proud graduate of Lone Oak High School, and was recognized by his peers as a hard worker, someone who faced each task with steadfast determination and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Throughout his life, Mike enjoyed the outdoors, finding solace in the simple joy of casting a line into the water. Fishing was not just a hobby for him, but a pastime that he enjoyed while savoring a cold beer, immersed in the tranquility of nature. These moments by the water's edge were the ones he treasured deeply.
Among the many roles that Mike embraced with love and pride, perhaps the most cherished was that of a grandfather. He was a cornerstone of wisdom, laughter, and love for his grandchildren, each of whom he adored with all his heart. His legacy continues through the lives of these young ones who will carry forward his stories, his lessons, and the warmth of his spirit.
His family draws comfort from the memory of Mike lifting his voice in prayer to the Lord as his journey in life was drawing to a close. As we bid farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived, the life of a man who was cherished by many and who will be deeply missed.
Mr. Cruse is survived by his daughter, Micheal Cruse (Brandon) of Sharpe, Kentucky; his sons, Matthew Cruse (Christopher) and Michael Cruse, all of Paducah; his sister Sandra Yates of Metropolis, Illinois; his grandchildren, Landon and Laila Hines.
Mr. Cruse was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Cruse and Barbara Jean Moore Cruse; his sister, Dianne Mason.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 4, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Bobby Abell officiating
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday, August 4, 2025, at the funeral home.
