Nancy M. Mancuso, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the venerable age of 95. Born on December 3, 1929, in the close-knit community of Chatham, New Jersey, Nancy's life was one marked by dedication, resilience, and an abiding joy for the natural world that surrounded her.
A proud graduate of Mountainside College, Nancy embarked on a career in healthcare that would define much of her professional life. Her intelligence, compassion, and leadership flourished as she ascended to the role of Director of Nursing, a position through which she touched countless lives with her wisdom and care. Nancy's commitment to her vocation was unwavering until her well-deserved retirement in 1990.
Nancy's home was a testament to her skill and dedication. Her flowers were not just plants; they were a testament to her ability to nurture and grow beauty in all things. Even as she advanced in years, Nancy was a living example that age was merely a number. She was still tending to her garden with the vigor of someone half her age at 90, her resilience and toughness an inspiration to all who knew her. Described as extremely tough by those who knew her best, Nancy was a woman who faced life's challenges with a steadfast heart.
Nancy is survived by her son, Roccie M. (Susie) Mancuso of Mayfield, Kentucky; one granddaughter, April L. Mancuso of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco J. Mancuso; her parents, George McNeil and Emily Borst McNeil, and two sisters, Jean Braun and Lynn McNeil.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
