Nickie Lynn Cope, 72, of Bardwell, Kentucky, passed away on January 1, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama. Nickie was born on May 28, 1953, to the late Jimmy Cope and Edna Robertson. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Nicky dedicated nearly 30 years of his life to Goodyear Tire; his commitment and perseverance reflected the values he carried throughout his everyday life. An avid outdoorsman, Nickie had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing of all kinds. Being outdoors was more than a pastime for him—it was a way of life. He cherished the early mornings, the quiet of the woods, and the time spent preparing for each season. He also enjoyed relaxing at home watching classic westerns, appreciating the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance they portrayed.
Nickie is survived by his son, Nick Cope II of Bardwell; his daughter, Melissa Cope of Satsuma, Florida; and two grandchildren, Acacia Adriana Wilson and Tatiana Antoria Wilson.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Throgmorton and Connie Muenster; one brother, Timothy Cope; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Shawn Redford officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the service time of 12:00 pm.
