Norma Jean Petty Gill, 88, of Cunningham, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah.
Norma Jean was born in Carlisle County on February 3, 1933 to the late Leonard Venson and Ethel May Moore Petty. She was of the Baptist faith. Norma Jean was a devoted family woman who always put those most precious in her life first. She was the most loving and caring daughter, mother and grandmother who was always willing to watch and babysit her grandkids and great-grandchildren. Norma Jean was very proud of her home and enjoyed keeping it immaculately clean. She also enjoyed cooking and canning the fresh vegetables she would grow in her garden as well as tending to flowers around her home. Norma Jean also loved to cheer on her beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats anytime they were playing basketball on television.
Norma Jean is survived by her daughter, Janet Gill Gray (David) of Louisville; her son, Gary Lee Gill (Cindy) of Bardwell; daughter-in-law, Pam Mathis Gill of Bardwell; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Gray, Jeremy (Jessica) Gray, Matt (Andrea) Gill, Clint (Kacie) Gill, Cody (Natalie) Gill, Megan Gill Koch and Vince (Alex) Gill; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tony Venson Gill; one sister, Earlene Wyman; three brothers, Edgar, Curtis and Wayne Petty; and her parents.
Funeral services for Norma Jean will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Jonathan Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Old Palestine Cemetery in Cunningham.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
