Ouida Anderson, 94, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah, surrounded by her loving family, just two days shy of her 95th birthday.

Ouida was born on September 17, 1931, in Gilbertsville, Kentucky, to the late Delbert J. Young and Treva Manning Young.

Ouida earned her associate degree in nursing and worked as a registered nurse for over 35 years, nearly 20 of which she spent at Lourdes Hospital. She attended Reidland Baptist Church, where she was involved with TeamKID and Vacation Bible School and assisted with counting the church offering. She also attended Reidland Church. Ouida loved Jesus, and her faith was an important part of her life.

Family was Ouida’s world, and being a grandmother was a title she wore proudly. She made it a priority to attend her grandchildren’s baseball and softball games and their many other extracurricular activities. She always showed up and showed out for the people she loved.

Ouida was a DIE-HARD University of Kentucky basketball fan who rarely missed a game and enjoyed attending many games in person. During the summertime, she loved boating and camping on the lake and river. Fiercely independent and strong-willed, Ouida was also incredibly kind and caring toward everyone she met.

Ouida is survived by her son, Glen (Vicki) Anderson of Paducah; two sisters, Lounell Mitchell of Paducah and Linda Lowery (Gale) of Benton; daughter-in-law, Renee Anderson of Jackson, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Lesli Anderson (Ryan) Hughes, Nathan Anderson, Brett (Laura) Anderson, Leah Michele Anderson (Drew) Baldwin, and Rebekah (Sean) Deines; ten great-grandchildren, Sydney Hughes, Alana Hughes, Mayah Anderson, Charlotte Anderson, Boone Baldwin, Annabelle Baldwin, Barrett Baldwin, Truett Baldwin, Adalynn Anderson, and Aubrey Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Anderson; one son, Kenneth Anderson; one sister, Dorothy Hoefs; one brother, Elmer Young; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Ison officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service hour.

The family kindly asks those attending Ouida’s funeral to wear pink in her honor.
