Peggy Sue Walker, age 87, passed away at Cypress Run Rehabilitation Center in Morristown, Indiana, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Peggy Sue Walker was born in Benton, Kentucky, on January 29, 1939, to Jessie M. English and Bessie A. Hendrickson English, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Eastside Holiness Church. Peggy Sue loved gospel music and was a member of the Original Gospel Travelers of Paducah. She found great pride and fulfillment during her career in education, where she served as a teacher's aide for the Paducah City Board of Education. Peggy Sue also served many years as a clerk for the local K-Mart. She enjoyed many hobbies during her free time, most notably crocheting. Peggy Sue loved her family deeply and spent as much time with them as possible. When her family wasn’t close by, she would always find time to send a loving and uplifting email to those who meant so much to her.
Survivors include one son, Rick G. Walker, and wife Barbara of Greenfield, Indiana; one grandson, Nash Walker; two sisters, Rebecca Minton and Patsy Gallagher, both of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Patricia English and Helen English; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were her husband, Gailon G. Walker; two brothers, Jerry English and James (Jimmy) English; and two sisters, Frances Fields and Betty Rudolph.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. David Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
