Penny Sue O’Toole, 64, of Arlington, Kentucky, passed away on December 9, 2025, at her residence. Penny was born on May 9, 1961, to the late Brumley and Jimmie Sue Hinson.
Known for her caring heart and gentle spirit, Penny devoted 23 years to serving others as a CNA. Penny truly loved her work—caring for people wasn’t just a job to her, but a calling. She treated every patient with compassion and kindness. Her steady presence brought comfort to countless families over the years.
Family was at the center of Penny’s world. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her warmth, patience, and steady support made her the heart of her family.
Penny will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an all-around caring person who made life brighter for everyone around her. Her legacy of service, love, and kindness will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
Penny is survived by her husband of 8 years, William “Bill” O’Toole; one daughter, Sandra (Ron) Hardin of Dyersburg, Tennessee; a son, Greg (Addie) Young of Portageville, Missouri; two step-daughters, Thelma O’Toole and Carrie O’Toole; and a step-son, William O’Toole Jr; four grandchildren, Michael Hinson, Jacob Hinson, Bryce Allen, and Daltin Nation; and three great grandchildren, Madison Noble, Brycen Allen, and Avery Allen.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 36 years, Lennie Young; a sister, Shirley Mitchell; four brothers, Bobby Hinson, Joe Hinson, Jerry Don Hinson, and Thomas Hinson; and her parents.
A funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington. Burial will follow at Arlington City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
