Phillip Allan Yates

Phillip Allan Yates, 71, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026. He was born on September 10, 1955.
 
Phillip was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church for 20 years. He dedicated 30 years of his career to A&K Construction, where his hard work and dedication earned him the position of supervisor. He was recognized as one of the most talented craftsmen who created some of the most beautiful facilities and spaces throughout Western Kentucky by his A&K colleagues. He especially enjoyed carpentry and could often be found working on projects of his own. Outside of work, Phillip enjoyed spending time outdoors and staying busy. In his free time, he loved bowling and playing billiards. He was a hardworking man who took pride in what he accomplished and found enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life.
 
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cathy Sasseen Yates of Paducah, Kentucky; two sons, Christopher Yates of Paducah and Sam Yates of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Khalessi and Ruby Yates of Paducah; three sisters, Anita (Joe) Neville of Paducah, Louise (David) Britt of Jensen Beach, Florida, and Kathy (Ray) Bagwell of Paducah; two brothers, Bob and David Yates both of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Marcella Suthard Yates; a sister, Judy Hines; and three brothers, John Yates, Ken Yates, and Tony Yates.
 
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.
