Prenice Burnett, age 88, passed away on November 28, 2025 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
A lifelong farmer, he raised hogs, chickens, and row crops with a quiet passion. A longtime member of Emmanuel Holiness Church, he found joy in mowing and planting tomatoes each spring. Loved by all, Prenice was laid-back, calm, steady, strong, and always upbeat.
Prenice is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon Coleman Burnett; six children, Myra Doss (Son) of Proctor, Oklahoma, Anthony Prenice Burnett (Jill) of Cunningham, Eric Burnett of Melber, Kenan Burnett (Crystal) of Cunningham, Marty Burnett (Marqueita) of Cunningham and Ashley Burnett of Cunningham; six sisters, Joyce Gourley, Vanda Davidson, Anna Gourley, Sharon Warren, June Burnett and Kimberly Cunnungham (Gaylon Don); four brothers, Joe Burnett (Ginger), Dale Burnett (Jeanette), Tommy Burnett and Terry Burnett; thirteen grandchildren, Jeremy Burnett, Heather Morris, Jordan Ray, Evan Burnett, Kaden Burnett, Kylen Burnett, Keldon Burnett, Kenson Burnett, Bryson Burnett, Brettan Burnett, Brookelinn Yates, Britanie Burnett and Breonna Burnett; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Colvin Elvis Burnett and Withrow Hortense Martin Burnett, and two brothers, Lindell Burnett and Elvis Burnett.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Glory Barn Holiness Church with Bro. Eugene Burnett and Bro. Dathan Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow at Glory Barn Holiness Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Glory Barn Holiness Church.
