Risa Compton, 71, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Risa was born on May 9, 1955, to the late George Howard Morehead and Mary Nell Wallace Morehead. Throughout her life, she was known for her gentle spirit, steady presence, and the kindness she extended to everyone around her. She carried herself with grace and warmth, and those who knew her will remember her as a woman who made others feel welcome, cared for, and valued. Her life was marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many people whose lives she touched through her work and friendships.
Risa was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Kevil, Kentucky, where she found strength, fellowship, and purpose in her church family. She was also a former teacher at Heath Elementary School, where she dedicated herself to helping children learn and grow.
Above all else, Risa loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She treasured every opportunity to be with them and found great joy in the simple, meaningful moments they shared together. She was a natural caretaker, always ready to offer comfort, support, and a helping hand whenever it was needed. Her family was the center of her heart, and she poured her love into each relationship with unwavering devotion.
Risa is survived by her daughter, Jordyn Jones, and her husband, Jayce of Murray; her son, Josh Compton, and his wife, Missy of Paducah; two grandchildren, Samson Jones and Leilani Jones; a sister, Aleta Harris of Kevil; and a brother, Wally Morehead of West Paducah.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Wes Morehead.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service hour of 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.
